number / Miss Daisy
|
- Built
by the Fairmont Company of Fairmont, Minnesota around the turn of the
20th Century.
- Cars
of this type were widely used by railways all over the world for track
inspection.
- Our
speeder is powered by a 1-cylinder gasoline engine.
- Two
MATA volunteers donated Miss Daisy in complete and operational condition.
- MATA
crews refurbished and dressed up the speeder's appearance.
- A
muffler was added to silence the unacceptably noisy engine.
- Safety
lights and appliances were also added so the car could be used in city
streets.
- Miss
Daisy and her trailer proved to be very useful in cleaning out dirt
and debris from our tracks during the reconstruction of McKinney Avenue.
